If you are thinking travel to Cusco and know the wonder of the world, and you do not know where to buy the intrance tickets? On this page we will give you information about the intrance ticket to Machu Picchu, schedules, and their different types of tickets.

Before to visit Machu Picchu, you must book the tickest in advance through the official website of  the Ministry of culture as well as with authorized agencies.

HOW MUCH DOES TICKETS COST TO MACHU PICCHU?

The prices of the entrance vary according to the type of ticket you want.

I.- MACHU PICCHU (CITY OR LLACTA)

This ticket is one of the most popular and must be reserved weeks in advance to avoid inconvenieces, the intrance time to the wonder of Machu Picchu is from 6:00am – 2:00 pm. At the time of booking this ticket, you have to observe the entry time that is found at the top of the ticket.

II.- HUAYNAPICCHU MOUNTAIN

It is the most famous mountain that is located behaind the city of Machu Picchu with a height of 2750 m. to get to the top you must ascend for about 1 hour of walking along a steep and narrow path, veryfew are lucky enought to buy this income since there are only 400 permits per day divided into 2 turns. (It is recommended to reserve them 3 months in advance).

1st Group 7:00 am to 8:00 am (Machu Picchu + Huaynapicchu mountain)

2nd Group 10:00 am to 11:00 am (Machu Picchu + Huaynapicchu mountain)

III.- MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN

 

The mountain of Machu Picchu is located at 3050m an offers its visitors the best panoramic view of the inca city of Machu Picchu. to reach the top it takes about 2 hours of walking alonga wide path and not so steep in comparison from the Huaynapicchu mountain. This sector only offers 800 tickets per day.

1st Group (entrance Machu Picchu from  6:00 am/ mountain 7:00 am – 8:00 am)

2nd Group (entrance Machu Picchu from 7:00 am/ mountain 7:00 am – 8:00 am)

3rd Group (entrance Machu Picchu from las 8:00 am/ mountain 9:00 am – 10:00 am)

IMPORTANCE OF THE  PASSPORT IN MACHU PICCHU

Perú is basically free admission. Like most countries in south America, a tourist visa is not required to enter Perú. the maximum length of stay granted by the authorities is 183 days ( it cannot be extended). For a longer term stay with other objectives such as work, business or study it is necessary to apply for a visa that corresponds to the activity issued in the respective Peruvian consulates.

To enter  Perú it is an essential requirement to present to valid Passport or visa.

The sister countries of south america such as Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay, Uruguay, ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela and Chile. These countries can enter with their  identity document.

WHY THE IMPORTANCE OF THE  PASSPORT ON THE INCA TRAIL – MACHU PICCHU

Why passport in Machu picchu?

If you are about to visit MACHUPICCHU or INCA TRAIL, you will necessarily have to use the passport or identity document in case of south american, updated not expired to be able to acquire or reserve the entrance ticket to said citadel as well for the train. For the  INCA TRAIL you must send the information requested by the tour operator or the travel agency.

 

IMPORTANT:

MIGRATION CARD When you arrive in Peru by air, do not forget to request your Andean migration card (image on the right) which will be issued to you at the migration office of the Jorge Chavez international airport in Peru, which is open 24 hours a day.

In the event that you visit Peru by land, it will be delivered to you by the respective migration offices that exist at each border, which are open from 9:00 a.m.

In case of loss of Andean migration card, you must file a complaint with the tourism police located in each city and later they will give you a certificate.
