Cusco Cultural and Short Inca Trail Trek

It is a good alternative for tourists who do not have much time and want to enjoy combined cultural tours and a short hike to Machu Picchu in 5 days and 4 nights; with family, Friends.

On this trip you will enjoy the beauty of the Inca city of Cusco and visit its most important monuments such as Saqsayhuman, Quenqo, Tambomachay, Pucapucara.

Then we travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through Pisaq, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. Before embarking on the famous Inca trail to one of the seven wonders of the world Machu picchu.

This Inca trail to Machu Picchu has a wide variety of flora and fauna and Inca sites such as Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna, nothing to envy from the classic Inca trail.

The Short Inca trail, is a part of the original Inca trail, for one day of trail covering a distance of 11 km (6.3 miles).

This path is not too challenging, which can be done perfectly with children and those with tight time.

I DAY - WELCOME TO CUSCO - CITY TOUR

Welcome to the Imperial City! Our representatives will welcome you at the Cusco airport and transfer you to your  respective hotel, where you can rest and/or perhaps explore the city of Cusco on your own, also take advantage of having lunch until before starting your first tour in the afternoon.

Our guide with  the transportation picks you up at your hotel to start the tour; which begins with the visit of the cathedral of Cusco, which houses masterpieces of the colonial era that crossed the city of Cusco. Next we visit the wonderful Qoricancha, which was the first and most important religious site of the Inca era. Later we will move to the imposing archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, Quenco , Tambomachay, Puca pucara.

I I DAY - CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

I I DAY – CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

Cusco Andean Hike  will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning. to then head  towards the sacred valley of the incas, taking the route to the archaeological center of Pisaq. On the way there will be  short  stop at the viewpoint  so you can take some pictures and enjoy the magnificent classical view of the sacred river of the incas (wilcamayu).

then we continue to Pisaq, in that place you will have a tour with your guide and then you will have a time to explore and take pictures , after we will go to the craft market, located in the town of Pisaq where you will get time to visit and buy some souvenirs.

Then we go to the city of Urubamba where you will have a lunch at a tourist restaurant; after our meal we go the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo, a magnificent city built by the Incas for religous purposes since in this city we can find a ceremonial center dedicated to the sun god, after the guided tour; we go to the archaeological site of Chinchero where you will visit the beautiful temple of the virgin of Montserrat build on inca foundations and you can visit the artisan Market. Finally we will board the return bus to the city of Cusco.

DAY III KM 104 – INTI PUNKU – MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES

DAY III KM 104 – INTI PUNKU – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES

Cusco Andean Hike will pick you up very early at your hotel at 4:00 a.m. by private bus to go to ollantaytambo (train station) from where the train trip begins until km 104.

Once at the starting point we pass the control of the Inca trail; We start walking for about 5 min to find the first archaeological center of Chachabamba, where our expert Guide will be delighted to share the history with you.

Our trek begins with the gradual ascent for 3 hours along the original Inca trail, we will walk through a cloud forest covering the mountains and enjoying the great variety of plants, orchids, different types of flowers and birds.

After passing the most spectacular waterfall we arrive at the ruins of Wiñay Wayna. Named after an orchid and meaning “forever young” in Quechua, the site offers incredible views of the Sacred Valley.

We continue our hike for another 1-2 hours on a relatively flat section of the trail. We will arrive at the SUN GATE  (Inti Punku) of Machu Picchu. This is the original entrance to the sacred city, and it is called “Intipunku” in Quechua. Intipunku provides our first distant views of the magnificent Machu Picchu.

After taking some time to enjoy the views, and take those amazing photos, we make a final short walk down to the main entrance of the inca city from where we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes.

Aguas Calientes

Arriving in Aguas Calientes we will take you to check in at your hotel. The town of Aguas Calientes is a thriving tourist town, with plenty of hustle and bustle to keep you entertained!.

Dinner will have been arranged at one of the local restaurants in town, and we will all dine together, sharing the excitement about the day ahead.

DAY IV AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

DAY IV AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

We start very early to take the first bus (5:30 am ) for heading to Machu picchu to make the guided tour with out many tourists to places included in the tour ( 1 hour and half) after the tour you will have a free time to explore the city and take more pictures.

If you have some ticket to visit one of the mountains as Huaynapicchu or Machu picchu mountain you will have long enough time to do it.

When you come back to aguas calientes you should be at the train station 30 minutes before taking your train back to ollantaytambo where a agency staff will be waiting for you with the bus to bring you back to Cusco and your hotel.
