Cusco Andean Hike will pick you up very early at your hotel at 4:00 a.m. by private bus to go to ollantaytambo (train station) from where the train trip begins until km 104.

Once at the starting point we pass the control of the Inca trail; We start walking for about 5 min to find the first archaeological center of Chachabamba, where our expert Guide will be delighted to share the history with you.

Our trek begins with the gradual ascent for 3 hours along the original Inca trail, we will walk through a cloud forest covering the mountains and enjoying the great variety of plants, orchids, different types of flowers and birds.

After passing the most spectacular waterfall we arrive at the ruins of Wiñay Wayna. Named after an orchid and meaning “forever young” in Quechua, the site offers incredible views of the Sacred Valley.

We continue our hike for another 1-2 hours on a relatively flat section of the trail. We will arrive at the SUN GATE  (Inti Punku) of Machu Picchu. This is the original entrance to the sacred city, and it is called “Intipunku” in Quechua. Intipunku provides our first distant views of the magnificent Machu Picchu.

After taking some time to enjoy the views, and take those amazing photos, we make a final short walk down to the main entrance of the inca city from where we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes.

Arriving in Aguas Calientes we will take you to check in at your hotel. The town of Aguas Calientes is a thriving tourist town, with plenty of hustle and bustle to keep you entertained!.
